An Excerpt From The Weekly Sermon
A Message For Marriage to Hazrat Rabia Basria (RA): There was a renowned religious scholar and a friend of Allah during the time of Hazrat Rabia Basria (RA). He sent a proposal for marriage to hazrat Rabia Basria (RA). The only reason was that he wanted to associate himself with hazrat Rabia Basriya (RA) so that till the judgement day he could be forgiven.
When he sent the marriage proposal, hazrat Rabia Basria (RA) said that there are certain questions that if you give correct answers of them, I shall get married to you. 1) On the day of judgement shall I get my result of deeds in the right hand or in the left hand? Give me an answer about this. The religious scholar said that he did not know. 2) On the day of judgement some people will be cut off and they will fall in the hell, there will be some who shall pass by the speed of light. Can you tell me that whether I shall fall in the hell or shall I pass through?
The religious scholar said, "I do not know anything about this as well. Rather, I do not even know about myself that whether I shall fall or not." 3) At the time of death there would be certain people who will die peacefully (i.e. as faithful people), and there will be certain people, whose faith and testimony shall be lost, please tell me whether I shall have a good or an evil end.
The religious scholar replied that he did know anything about that as well. 4) She asked that tomorrow on the day of judgement, Allah Almighty shall send a few people to the heaven and a few to hell, can you tell me whether Allah shall send me in the heaven or hell? The religious scholar said, I do not have any answer for these questions. Then hazrat Rabia Basria (RA) said, then leave me alone for my lord, because my journey is very tough, my destination is far, I have to travel for that, and there is no guarantee about life. I don't know that where shall I reach. That is why leave my situation upon my Lord.
The Apparent Destiny of Hazrat Rabia Basria (RA): She was named Rabia because there were three older sisters than her. And her father desired male offspring. But the fourth one who was born was a daughter as well. In Arabic Raabia means four.. Because her number was fourth as well, that is why she was named as Rabia. Upon her birth her father threw her away. Mother also cried a lot that the fourth one who was born was a daughter as well. But they did not know that on the forehead of this Raabia, on her destiny and luck, the linkage that was written with Allah Almighty, that might not be attainable by the other daughters, that is something that any other Rabia of the world might not achieve.
Why Did Raabia Basriya (RA) Attain Such A High Place: What was the thing due to which this unfortunate, widow, pure negro, infertile and poor and destitute woman was bestowed with such heights of dignity? That was only due to one reason, and that was due to Allah Almighty. Always remember! The person who shall befriend the one who would always remain alive, he would remain alive forever. And the person who would befriend mortals, then when they would die, he would also die and be forgotten. And sometimes it so happens that in order to befriend a worldly dignitary one has to sell one's faith and sometime conscience as well. And then it so happens that respect is lost as well. In order to befriend the worldly king one has to adopt so many ways, and in these ways sometimes there are plenty of hardships as well that are unlimited.
Worshipping the Dawning Sun: I read about the circumstances of the states of the past times and saw them myself as well. You have also observed the people who attain authority in our times as well. And I also observed these things as well. What did they not do to achieve friendships. Only for the purpose of maintaining a connection, but the most thought provoking affair is that their friendship should be eternal.
I had a chance to converse with a politician on Ferozepur road. He said to me that politics has devastated me. Now the current rulers say that why do I meet the members of the previous political party. And the older one's used to say that now you are ours and do not meet them again. Now to meet the rulers of the past tenure is his necessity, and the rulers of the present time are not ready to accept him. And they are not ready to accept the previous rulers as well.
The Royal Physician of Nawab of Bahawalpur: Hakeem Khawaaja Raheem Ullah was the royal physician of the nawaab of Bahawalpur. The nawaab became angry with him about something. And hakeem sahib started thinking that how should I face nawaab sahib? He wondered how would he punish him. One thing about the temperament of the nawaab was that he used to beat a lot. And then after beating he used to give a lot of gifts. The wrath of the nawaab was such that he always used to have a stick in his hand that he used to keep on beating on his own thigh. Due to this reason his thigh had become black. Due to staying angry all the time, he used to keep on beating himself. Khawaja Raheem Ullah was thinking that how should he go in front of Nawaab sahib. The royal physician and nawaab sahib had a lot of mutual affection as well. Once upon a time the royal physician parted with the nawaab, and went away to Hyderabad. (Continued)
